One of the great trends on the European SS 08 09 runways was tiered ruffles as seen in Blessed Are The Meek’s collection for Spring Summer!

The ruffle trend when worn well will give you a romantic touch that is perfect for summer- The thrill of frills – layers and tiers!

The contestant in the final week of July on the Elephant Runway is Blessed Are The Meek's - Tatum Frilled Dress. This dress is my favourite as it has a romantic appeal. The Tatum dress is sleeveless with a lovely delicate ruffle from the left to the right. The colour palette is a cream with black.

Girly girls will fall head-over-heels for Blessed's Spring's romantic ruffle trend.

Hard and soft, sheer and solid, dark and light - just like real-life love affairs. The secret to the ruffle look is to keep it simple.

Don't be afraid to wear your heart on your sleeve this summer!

Annette's Dress Of The Week...Cybele

The contestant in the final week of June on the Elephant Runway is Cybele – “The Celestial Dress” – A Heavenly Body.

This dress is considered to be “very much of the moment”. The colour pallet is vibrant, dark and moody entwining lilac and purple, like the midnight sky. The Celestial dress is floaty with a long ruched neck that will make you swirl away into your dreams. Cybele’s new Spring/Summer 08/09 collection for the season can take you to a fancy dinner, a bar or a classy jazz club. The focal point of this week’s frock is the colour as it is bold and beautiful.

Annette's Frock of the Week - Ruby Smallbone

This week’s contestant on the Elephant Runway is Ruby Smallbone’s – “The Strokes Strapless Twist Dress”. I refer to this frock as a “cocktail with a twist” as it is sexy but tasteful, a “look to kill”.

This is a statement dress as it really epitomises the phrase “less is more”. It has a sweetheart cut, simple colouring and I think very fashion forward. Wearable for the young at heart.

Ruby Smallbone’s new collection for the season has a ballerina appeal, appropriate for a slow dance or an enchanted evening at the opera. Kylie is our absolutely indispensable Friday intern who has been with us here at Elephant for over a year and a half. Here she is with the glamorous Annette, our lovely Fashion Junior/showroom mistress at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week - living it up at the Rosemount Bar! Even with all that free-flowing Rosemount 'O' they remained the consummate professionals! Always at the camera ready though...

So if you're thinking of popping by the showroom for a visit... drop by on a Friday and let the Blonde Mafia sort out your clothing dilemma. They're really quite good.
